it's been awhile since i've posted- so much has happened.
-we have a new president- history made by having our first african-american president.
since taking office, obama has made some good changes..lets hope these changes continue
as well as being good changes.

-gaza under attack by israel- backed by the us.
since there has been a cease-fire in place; but this after nearly 1000's of palestineans [mostly civilians] have died.
i could go on and on...most recently i have been reading 'diet for a new america'
i've been complete vegetarian for nearly a year now [although prior to that i ate minute amounts of meat-calling myself a non-veg that ate like a veg]. i was given this book to read back when i was in college- back then i was not ready to read about the animal sufferings for meat. i knew things were not good in the meat industry, but i was not ready for whatever reason, which i believe was my reasoning to continue eating meat [as burgers were once one of my fave].
i cannot believe the things that happen to these animals along their way for consumption. the amounts of chemials pumped into them is atrocious. the fact that we are consuming these antibiotics, the animals energies & the suffering just disgusts me. i am on my way to becoming vegan. i will be sharing some of my 'findings' to shock you into vegetarianism too~ :)

i cannot even begin to imagine the horrors the people in the flooded communities are experiencing; having to flee their homes with the possibility of losing it all. But the worst nightmare is trying to get 'back' to your home when you are not allowed, not even at your own risk.
